Matt Janisin has been named Gateway’s new vice president of the Business and Workforce Solutions Division.
Janisin takes over the helm of the division from outgoing vice president Debbie Davidson, who is retiring. Janisin begins his duties Oct. 30.
“I am excited to continue the great work Gateway is known for at the local, state and national level in the areas of industry partnerships and customized training solutions,” said Janisin.
“As Southeastern Wisconsin prepares for a dynamic future, I want all local employers to view Gateway as a resource and partner in meeting their workforce needs. Together, we can help create economic prosperity for everyone in the communities we serve.”
Janisin has worked for Gateway since 2007 in a variety of positions within the college’s Automotive Technology program as well as transportation industry education. He started as an adjunct instructor in 2007, and most recently served as the NC3 instructor/coordinator for the college.
Janisin is well known locally, nationally and internationally for his ability to forge partnerships with industry leaders to create innovative and real-world curriculum while also delivering quality education to students and peers.
Most recently, Janisin was responsible for the promotion, delivery, and supervision of the various NC3-related industry certifications integrated into technical programs throughout the college. This includes training students, other Gateway instructors and professionals, as well as reporting the progress of certification integration and the number of student certifications earned. He has worked directly with members of NC3 and its industry partners that have a presence on Gateway’s campuses, including Snap-on Incorporated, FCA, Trane, Starrett, Greenlee and Festo.
Janisin earned an associate degree at UW-Barron County and three degrees from UW-Stout: a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial and Technology Education, a Master of Science degree in Industrial and Technology Education and a Doctor of Education Degree in Career and Technical Education.
