Hands-on learning is quickly becoming the best-known way for students to fully grasp concepts and curriculum, especially in the world of technical education. To this end, classrooms have started to change in accommodation for this type of hands-on teaching. Because 3D printers are becoming more regular in everyday classrooms (not just tech ed rooms), machine tools, like CNC mills and lathes, are more commonplace in the shop.
Tyler, TX, situated 100 miles east of Dallas is home to Tyler Junior College, affectionately known as The College of East Texas. Birthed in tiny Tyler High School in 1926, the college has grown to become one of the largest community college in Texas.
August 2017 marks an incredible milestone for Snap-on Incorporated and NC3. Exactly ten years after the initial integrated Snap-on Certifications at Gateway Technical College’s Horizon Transportation Center, NC3 and its founding industry partner have achieved 100,000 student certifications across the country.
This fall, HVAC students at North Dakota State College of Science (NDSCS) and instructors Jeff Kukert and Mark Wood will be using a new, state-of-the-art instructional facility. The new Building Automation Systems lab is the result of a partnership with NC3 and Trane and a workforce enhancement grant from the North Dakota Department of Commerce.
