PHCC – NC3’s Newest Advanced Manufacturing Center of Excellence
Congratulations to NC3 Leadership School Patrick Henry Community College for being recognized as an NC3 and Festo Center of Excellence in the Advanced Manufacturing Industry 4.0 sector.
This semester, six students were among the first in the nation to earn the new Certified Industry 4.0 Associate credential. Despite changes in class delivery caused by the pandemic, PHCC students completed numerous certifications this spring.

SC Johnson Donates $539,660 to Build HOPE for Gateway Students
SC Johnson donated $539,660 to the Gateway Technical College Foundation to support the Highly Skilled Occupations for Professional Employment (HOPE) program. This generous donation will allow Gateway to provide further training for students who want to earn a workforce certificate.
This contribution was intended as a rapid response solution to offset the impact that COVID-19 has had on the local workforce, and it’s expected to have an annual economic impact of five million dollars on Racine County in Wisconsin.

Trane on CNBC: Air Quality
NC3 is proud to partner with Trane, a leader and innovator in both the energy and technology industries. Michael Lamach, CEO of Trane Technologies, and chair of the board of the National Association of Manufacturers, was recently featured on CNBC’s “Squawk Box.” Trane is working with businesses to keep employees and customers safe during the pandemic and into the future beyond it. 3M Video: PPE Best Practices for Non-Healthcare Workers | Return to Work
In an effort to Keep CTE Moving, 3M has created an informative video to provide basic information that can be used as part of a school’s overall training with staff as campuses look towards re-opening.
This 22-minute training program will provide background on biological hazards and the importance and use of different controls, including PPE.

NC3 Board Member Dr. Lee Lambert is Keeping CTE Moving!
Dr. Lee Lambert, the Chancellor of Pima Community College in Tucson, Arizona and longtime NC3 Board Member, was recently interviewed by Achieve60AZ, a nonprofit, nonpartisan, community-based alliance of over 150 member organizations and 40 municipalities that have made the post-secondary attainment goal their own.

Trane Technologies Launches Center for Healthy and Efficient Spaces to Help Create Safer, Healthier, More Resilient Communities
Global climate innovator Trane Technologies recently announced the launch of its Center for Healthy and Efficient Spaces (CHES) to create safer, healthier, and more efficient environments for homes, buildings, and transportation around the globe.
Trane Technologies’ vice president of innovation and product excellence, Rasha Hasaneen, will be the center’s director.
“The global pandemic heightens sensitivity to the need for health and safety, and the overall quality of indoor environments,” Hasaneen says. “We are introducing CHES to focus on ensuring that homes, buildings, public transport and other spaces will come out of the pandemic healthier and more sustainable than ever.”

NC3 Designates 11 Award Winners at the 2020 Annual Leadership Summit

NC3 Develops Curriculum for Snap-on V3300 ProX
In partnership with Snap-on Inc., NC3 recently developed new curriculum for the John Bean V3300 mobile wheel alignment system.
According to Justin Hoffman, Instructor and Automotive Technician at Gateway Technical College, both schools and students are excited to offer this certification because this curriculum will give students the first-hand knowledge they need to be successful when working in the shop and will give them a leg up on their competition, which will not only put them at an advantage as they learn the correct wheel alignment methods, but also as they learn the reasons behind them.
