The prevalence of data and the power of current software tools has created the greatest opportunity to leverage technology to advance knowledge since the advent of the personal computer. From professional sports strategy to vaccine development, data is accelerating progress everywhere.

The ability to analyze data is a highly-valued qualification for almost any career path. Many employers say it ranks among the most critical workforce skillsets.

The new Data Analytics NC3 certification has been developed for post-secondary and secondary STEM and CTE programs.

Students will:

  • Learn to recognize and understand useful information within datasets
  • Develop a working skillset using data analysis software
  • Create charts, graphs and visuals to analyze data and identify relationships
  • Understand the story in the data and how to communicate it to others
  • Be able to leverage data analytics in their chosen field of study

Dan Whisler, Trane Educator in Residence and NC3 Master Instructor, is excited about this new certification. He shared, “Harnessing the Power of Data serves as a great introduction to the rapidly growing use of data collection and analysis across all industries. From the history of data analytics to the use of technology to now being able to make virtually real-time decisions, this course will provide students the opportunity to develop skills and use analytical software common in the industry.”

Combining critical thinking with real-world application, this new certification engages and prepares students to share the power of data with any audience.
