Our team at NC3 has some impressive employees in our ranks and this Staff Spotlight series aims to highlight the incredibly talented individuals who work with us. We’ll be featuring a new interview in our monthly newsletters, here on our website, and on our social media pages each month. This month’s Staff Spotlight features NC3 team member, Hannah Peltier. Hannah is NC3’s Membership Manager and Executive Project Manager.

In her role at NC3, Hannah manages the NC3 Leadership School membership network, where she is proud to support each school’s individual missions and goals. She particularly enjoys working on New Member Onboarding because she loves welcoming new Leadership Schools into the network, discussing their vision and goals, as well as strategizing how they will utilize NC3 certifications and programs in their institution.

Prior to working at NC3, Hannah started her career in entertainment events by launching a 70,000-person music festival followed by working on a PGA World Championship. She quickly learned her passion was in marketing and communications so she continued to work in corporate and membership marketing for professional associations and nonprofits across numerous industries including healthcare, aviation, industrial trades, and product development. Throughout her career, she has always supported programming for membership networks, so her transition to managing the NC3 Leadership School network was a seamless fit.

Check out our Q&A session below to learn more about Hannah, her proudest moments at NC3, her personal mantra, what you might not guess she does in her role, and more!

What are some fun elements of working with NC3 that you only learned about after you started working here?

The NC3 team has such a diverse background, and together, we make a fantastic well-rounded team. Because we come from all walks of life, and areas of expertise, I believe we are able to provide tremendous value and support to our diverse network of schools.

What would people never guess you do in your role?

I wear many hats in NC3. Our team is a small but mighty team so we all have multi-faceted roles. I don’t think people realize that by supporting our NC3 Leadership Schools, my role is truly dedicated to not only supporting our individual members but also supporting the network as a whole and our members’ collective goals – which include NC3’s strategic initiatives for national standardization, working with state leaders and state departments of education and workforce, bringing awareness to state and national workforce boards, professional associations, and industry partners, and providing events and programs to support our schools’ ongoing needs. I’m fortunate to work across our team and have the opportunity to work with every NC3 Program Manager, the NC3 Certification Team, and all of our industry partners, together to support our NC3 schools.

Do you have a motto or personal mantra?

Our world could always use more love and kindness. My grandmother always taught me to live by the golden rule, “treat others as you would like to be treated.” It’s a simple rule, and some days I think we can all admit it’s a hard rule to follow but it’s definitely an important one!

Where would you like to go on a dream vacation?

I love to travel and I’ve had the opportunity to travel to many different places but I wasn’t able to go on my European honeymoon due to COVID, so my dream vacation is to finally take our honeymoon trip to explore Portugal, Italy, and Greece!

You’re happiest when _________________.

I’m exploring. One of the reasons I’ve stayed in Chicago so long is because there’s always something to do. I love exploring my own city by trying new restaurants, visiting new exhibits, going to new neighborhoods, but I also love traveling to new places, meeting new people, and experiencing new cultures. In the last year and a half, I’ve already taken four cross-country road trips!

What is your proudest moment at NC3?

I don’t think I can choose one specific moment that I’m proud of but the moments that bring me joy are when I hear from an administrator or an instructor how an NC3 certification, event, or program has truly made an impact at their institution. It makes me really happy to know NC3 is making a difference to students, communities, families and institutions. It makes all the hard work worth it!

What is on your wish list for the next 5 years with NC3?

NC3 is a motivated organization that is continuously at the forefront of career and technical education AND industry needs. I’m actively working towards bringing awareness of NC3 certifications across the nation so in the next few years I’d like NC3 certifications recognized on every state certification list! I’m also so excited that the NC3 Leadership School network has gone international with our first two NC3 Leadership Schools in Canada. Over the next five years, I look forward to expanding our membership into more countries.
