This month’s Staff Spotlight features NC3 team member, Alex Brookhouse. In his role as Operations Director, he oversees NC3’s program managers, training teams, customer success group, NC3certs.com operations as well as a wide variety of special projects and strategic initiatives. Alex is incredibly proud that the growth of NC3 over the years has been astounding! Not only has NC3 grown in its total number of certifications and corporate partnerships but it’s also grown with a diverse group of skilled individuals who are passionate about making a difference in technical education.
Our team at NC3 has some impressive employees in our ranks and this Staff Spotlight series aims to highlight the incredibly talented individuals who work with us. We’ll be featuring a new interview in our monthly newsletters, here on our website, and on our social media pages each month.
Check out our Q&A session below to learn more about what Alex likes most about his job, where he’d like to go on a dream vacation, what superpower he wishes he had, and more!
What do you like most about your job?
I love the opportunity to bask in the team’s successes. As a supervisor, sometimes the best thing I can do is get out of the way and let them “own it.”
What has been your favorite project while working at NC3?
I’m truly passionate about NC3’s Train-the-Trainer program. This program is where the rubber hits the road. At NC3’s Train-the-Trainer events, folks from all around the country come together to learn important skills, create relationships, and break bread.
Where would you like to go on a dream vacation?
I’d love to go skiing in Japan. I’d also love to go road tripping around New Zealand in a Camper Van and/or rafting down a river for a week. Unfortunately, I have more grand ideas than actual time to accomplish them. You can generally find me adventuring in the Sierra Nevada mountain range on the weekends.
What is a superpower you wish you had?
I wish I could control all aspects of the weather to bring water to drought-ridden areas, cooler air to places that need it, and maybe on a personal level, a little powder to my neck of the woods for a great day of skiing or a tailwind for a bicycle ride.
What has been your proudest accomplishment at NC3?
Building an incredible team of experts and professionals that are helping students acquire the skills necessary to secure well-paying, stable jobs.
What are 3 words you’d use to describe NC3?
Fluid, energetic, thoughtful
