NC3’s School on the Rise: March 2022
March 24, 2022

Our team at NC3 has some impressive employees in our ranks and this Staff Spotlight series aims to highlight the incredibly talented individuals who work with us. We’ll be featuring a new interview in our monthly newsletters, here on our website, and on our social media pages each month.

This month’s Staff Spotlight features NC3 team member, Grace Henrichs… NC3’s Customer Success and Engagement Coordinator! Grace has always worked in customer service because she enjoys working with people. Before joining our team here at NC3, she owned and operated an Etsy shop!

In her role at NC3, Grace spends her days setting up instructors with exams after they complete NC3’s Train-the-Trainer courses, and she assigns NC3 certifications to their schools once their exams are complete. Since joining NC3 in December, Grace is proud there are now over 200 schools teaching new certifications!

Check out our Q&A session below to learn more about Grace, what people would never guess she does in her role, what her favorite project has been while working at NC3, what superpower she wishes she had, and more!

What job(s) did you do before you started working with NC3?

I have always worked in customer service as I enjoy working with people. Before NC3, I ran an Etsy shop where I sold high-end handmade doll clothes to international customers. I learned so much from this job regarding customer relations and success. After many years of working, I grew tired of creating products and closed my shop. Upon finding NC3, I was ecstatic to find a job helping others. Consequently, I get excited for each new instructor added to our network because my passions are contributing to customer success.

What has been your favorite project while working at NC3?

As NC3 grows, so does the amount of information we have to store. After working closely with Erika for some time we were able to identify a solution to prepare us for growth. Under the customer success department, I’ve been working on creating a custom database specifically for optimizing our customer service processes. I’m so excited to be bringing better experiences to our users!

What have you gained from working at NC3?

Before NC3, I never had the opportunity to speak with so many people in CTE, nor in education as a whole. Since working here, I’ve gained a massive amount of respect for everyone involved. I never knew how smart, creative, and hard-working the people in these fields are. Back in January, I had the amazing opportunity to attend NC3’s recent Train-the-Trainer event in Phoenix, Arizona. While there, I learned so much about the specifics of so many NC3 certifications. As cool as this was, nothing compares to the incredible stories from instructors about diversity, inclusion, hard work, and success. I’m so proud to be supporting the next generations in their pursuit to work in these incredible fields.

What is a superpower you wish you had?

If I could duplicate myself, I would in a heartbeat. There are so many things I could complete immediately if I had a few extra hands to get the work done! With the power to duplicate myself, I would happily set up an office with clones of myself to work at 1000% efficiency.

What would people never guess you do in your role?

If you’re familiar with the New School & Certification Request Form, then you’ve probably received an email from me! I work diligently to set up each instructor with their exams and certifications after they complete training. Although it may not sound like much, this process can be very complicated.

How has NC3 helped you in your career development?

Previously at other jobs, I would need to work with a chain of command to get even the simplest changes put in place. At NC3, collaboration and learning are highly valued. There is open communication between team members and our leadership really cares about the team. I’ve been able to learn and use new programs, as well as attend awesome Train-the-Trainer events such as Data Analytics. I genuinely feel there is room and support to grow here.

What motivates you to wake up and go to work?

It was quite difficult to consider working for others after owning my own business for so long. I spent a very long time searching for the perfect job and even turned down some reputable companies. NC3, however, sparked my interest and motivation to work in a way that other companies did not. After several months, I can confidently say I really love my team and the work that I do. I feel the impact of my work every day. The most rewarding aspect is the volume of people that have received industry-recognized certifications as a result of the work my team and I have put in. Time never feels wasted, each task has its own reward!
