NC3 has some impressive team members in our ranks and this Staff Spotlight series aims to highlight the incredibly talented individuals who work with us. We’ll be featuring a new interview in our monthly newsletters, here on our website, and on our social media pages each month.
This month’s Staff Spotlight features Joseph Smith… NC3’s Customer Success IT Coordinator!
Before joining the NC3 team, Joseph held an Apprenticeship at Cerner focusing on Physical Access and Asset Recovery. Prior to that, he held an Internship at the same organization focusing on Cloud Identity and Access Management.
In his role here at NC3, Joseph enjoys making a positive impact and supporting all of NC3Certs.com’s Users. When you submit a ‘Help Request’ on the NC3Certs.com Help Page, you’ll most likely receive assistance directly from Joseph to troubleshoot and resolve the issue(s) you’re experiencing. Throughout the past seven months, he’s been an integral part of our team here at NC3. He’s completed well over 200 Help Requests, and that number continues to grow each day!
What do you like most about your job?
Every day, I get the opportunity to make a positive impact on this company, which ultimately impacts our Users. I especially get to see this impact at Train-The-Trainer events. Seeing our Instructors motivated and interested in the curriculum we offer and the excitement they have when these Instructors get to bring the things they’ve learned back to their Students is a phenomenal feeling of fulfillment. I get to see that the small things I do every day culminate in the success of our Users, ultimately creating highly educated Students, which craft a better and brighter future.
What are 3 words to describe NC3?
To describe NC3 as an organization, we must first understand the textbook definitions of innovation, community, and progress. The idea of online Certifications is not new, however, NC3 has innovated a new method of delivery that brings high-quality education to students through industry-recognized certifications, at no cost to them. Couple that with the community that is the NC3 team, gathered in fellowship behind the NC3 goal, this organization truly creates learning that works. Together, our team is progressing onward toward a modern method of building up a better and more complete future through the education of CTE Students worldwide.
How would you describe the NC3 team?
The NC3 team is an extremely diverse group unified behind one single purpose. Our varied backgrounds provide us with different lenses and perspectives to motivate us toward the NC3 goal. We’re a community of tight-knit people, answering the beckoning call to innovate and drive the success of everyone we have the opportunity to work with.
What were you most surprised to learn about NC3 during or shortly after you were onboarded?
The most surprising piece of information I received shortly after onboarding with NC3 is the sheer size of the outreach this organization has. Many of the companies that I recognize and use in daily life have partnered with NC3 to bring industry-level certifications to students. Getting the opportunity to intimately work with these companies I hold in high praise brings me even more pride in the work that I do.
Do you have a favorite quote?
“Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things” – 1 Corinthians 13:7. Every day we see the negativity that is across the news and various media outlets. We should, however, spread positivity and happiness throughout our daily lives, always remembering to be kind to one another, and harboring only the purest intentions.
You’re happiest when…
I’m happiest when I get out on the trail. Being in the great outdoors is a major passion of mine, with camping and hiking being a big part of my life. My ideal camping trip is floating down a river in a canoe, hiking to the highest point to watch the sunset, and camping on the shoreline while fishing for my dinner. Not all who wander are lost!
