Over the past few months, Palmer Hamilton’s PHabLAB division has worked closely with NC3 to develop and provide specific programs for students as young as middle school to get NC3 certified on the use of 3D printers and CNC machines.

PHabLAB, is a leading provider of turn-key solutions for STEM/STEAM spaces, which encompasses digital fabrication equipment, furniture, customizable wall graphics, learning resources, training, and support all offered in a tailored, ready to use, turnkey package. Via a well-proven, collaborative 8 step process that engages all stakeholders, including students, to understand goals, budgets, and daydreams results in the creation of a unique, tailormade makerspace that engages students and empowers educators like never before.

Whether the final design is a suite of new or upgraded technology, a transformation of an unused space that has a wide range to technology or a full room transformation 100% dedicated to a makerspace, the result will be a space that invites and welcomes a diverse pool of students to dive into learning in an exciting and expressive learning environment.

With the NC3 partnership, PHabLAB helps K -12 schools to not only deliver a tailored space designed specifically for the needs of the school and students, but also offers learning resources that result in real world benefits for a student’s future success. Specifically, NC3’s Train-the-Trainer program is available for both 3D Printing (Dremel) and CNC (Tormach).

When the Train-the Trainer program is completed successfully, students will achieve NC3 certifications on the use of both of those technologies. Earning a NC3 certification means that students demonstrate proficiency in use and understanding of the technology making them significantly more attractive to employers looking for skilled labor.
