On August 4, 2023 Bishop State in conjunction with Airbus hosted a graduation for the newest graduates of the FlightPath 9 High School and Early Careers Pre-Apprenticeship programs. In total, there were 64 graduates who earned a total of 960 NC3 credentials, and 64 OSHA 10 certifications, produced over 1,100 credit hours, and earned a short certificate in Aviation Manufacturing Technology. These students are now going through a rigorous apprenticeship program with Airbus where they have begun their full-time employment.

The High School pre-apprenticeship program is a dual enrollment program with local high schools and Bishop State Community College where students are enrolled as full-time high school students during the day and enrolled in the FlightPath 9 program in the evening. These students attended night classes for a total of 9 months and then an additional 4 weeks in the summer to complete their credentials.

The Early Careers pre-apprenticeship program is open to those individuals who have less than 4 years of work experience. They are put through an interview process where they are selected as future employees of Airbus and then sent to training with Bishop State. These students spend 10 weeks working full-time in the classroom and lab to gain knowledge and skills to help them be successful in their next step as Airbus employees and apprentices.

We are excited to continue growing this amazing program and partnerships inside the region.
