Alexia Chester

This month we’re excited to put the spotlight on Alexia Chester… NC3’s Marketing Coordinator!

As a Marketing Coordinator, Alexia’s role is diverse, covering social media, graphic design, website updates, and email campaigns. Her advice to aspiring professionals is: follow your passions, gain experience through internships, and stay open to new opportunities.

Alexia appreciates her dynamic work, supportive colleagues, and welcoming environment. In the next five years, her goal is to advance within the company and stay updated with marketing trends.

What job(s) did you do before you started working with NC3?

During high school and college, I took on part-time jobs at various places like Autobell Car Wash, Subway, and as a nanny/babysitter to earn some extra money. After I graduated college, I landed a job at RE/MAX as a Social Media/Marketing Specialist. Following this, I worked as a Junior Marketing Associate at a digital marketing agency, and now I work as a marketing Coordinator here at NC3!

Fun facts/quick stats you’d like to share about the programs/projects you work on:

As a marketing coordinator, I wear many hats. My day to day tasks are never the same, and I am always learning. My job duties can include anywhere from social media, to graphic design, to website updates, to newsletter email campaigns, to creating/designing PowerPoints.

What would you tell someone in high school about the years to come?

Think about your passions and interests, and let those guide you into a plan for a future career. Gain experience through internships/part-time work – it will A) give you experience that you can put on your resume, but it will also B) solidify whether you do or do not want to continue pursuing that career. Also, stay open to new possibilities as your career evolves.

What have you gained from working at NC3?

From working at NC3, I have gained a stronger skillet in Adobe Software Applications, such as Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign. I have also gained a stronger understanding of how HTML and custom coding can really help make a website beautiful and functional. NC3 has also taught me that It’s always important to ask questions, no matter how silly they may seem. Someone is always willing to help, and chances are they’ve had the same question before.

What’s something most people don’t know about you?

I have lived in 7 states throughout my life. I was born in Upstate New York (Go Bills), and I have lived in Texas, Oklahoma, Connecticut, South Carolina, North Carolina, and Florida. After graduating from Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton, I returned to Charlotte, North Carolina, where I had lived for 6 years prior to attending college.

What do you enjoy about working with NC3?

I enjoy that every day is different, and I am constantly learning. I also love that I have a support system of people who work directly with me, and will help me out if I have a question or need help with a project. I also love how friendly everyone is, and how they really made me feel welcome when I first started here.

What is on your wish list for the next 5 years with NC3?

Over the next 5 years, my primary wish is to grow with the company and assume more advanced roles and responsibilities. I am committed to continuous professional growth, staying updated with the latest marketing trends and technologies, ensuring that I remain at the forefront of our industry. Additionally, I aspire to lead and contribute to marketing campaigns that have a substantial impact on our brand recognition, student and school engagement, and overall success.

How has NC3 helped you in your career development?

My time here at NC3 has been a valuable learning experience where I’ve acquired more knowledge in website development and design, delved into HTML, discovered tips and tricks for Adobe software usage, and enhanced my email marketing skills through exposure to new applications. This diverse skill set has not only expanded my capabilities but also made me a more well-rounded professional in the field of digital marketing and design.
