Dr. Bryan Albrecht, President Emeritus of Gateway Technical College and NC3 Board Member shares his first-hand experience visiting NC3’s first and only Leadership School in Puerto Rico

Written by Dr. Albrecht

In February, I had the privilege of visiting one of our outstanding champion colleges—Mech-Tech Puerto Rico. As a leader in advanced automotive, diesel technology, HVAC, manufacturing, and welding education, Mech-Tech serves approximately 300 students each year, preparing them for successful careers in technical fields.

From the moment I arrived, I was impressed by their deep commitment to NC3 and the industry partners who support our mission. Each lab was fully equipped with NC3 partner certification kits and state-of-the-art tools, creating an environment where both faculty and students thrive. Their passion for their work was contagious, and it was clear that they take great pride in their chosen career paths.

One of the highlights of my visit was seeing NC3’s branding proudly displayed throughout the campus—even on the main sign at the entrance. It was evident that Mech-Tech celebrates this partnership and works hard to provide students with a top-tier academic and technical experience.

A heartfelt thank you to Ms. Tahiti Rivera Ramos, Campus Director, for giving me a thoughtful tour and for her outstanding leadership. Keep up the amazing work, Mech-Tech!
