What job(s) did you do before you started working with NC3?
I have worked in a variety of jobs before joining NC3. My experience includes working at the Post Office at UT and a non-profit called Remote Area Medical for work-study. I have also worked as a Parking Enforcement Officer/Valet and a Warehouse Associate for Streamline Productions. In addition to these roles, I have held many other positions that have shaped my skills and experience.
Please share a little bit about what you do for NC3.
I primarily work on New Certification Request forms from Instructors and assist Industry Partners and my NC3 Co-Workers as needed. I also update and fix school accounts on nc3certs.com to ensure they have the correct information in our system. Additionally, I track which certifications go to each school and Instructor. After a Train-the-Trainer session, I follow up with Instructors to ensure they are all set to begin implementing at their schools.
What drew you to NC3 originally?
I was drawn to NC3 by my passion for serving those in career and technical education. I’ve always been fascinated by trade careers such as welding, electrical work, and automotive. Our work at NC3 directly helps these fields thrive, which gives me a sense of purpose, knowing I’m contributing to the essential industries that keep our society running.
What are 3 words to describe NC3?
NC3 is Diligent, driven by the hard work and dedication of its people. It is Committed to completing tasks efficiently, no matter the challenge. NC3 is also Adaptable, continuously evolving to meet the ever-changing demands of Train-the-Trainer events across North America.
Do you have a favorite quote?
My favorite quote of all time is by Patrick Henry: “I like the dreams of the future better than the history of the past.” To me, this quote is about focusing on the future and not what happened in the past. You can learn from your past, but you cannot make it any better than you can with the future.
Do you have a motto or personal mantra?
One of my mottos is: “Keep Moving Forward.” I originally got this idea from the Disney Movie “Meet The Robinsons”. It’s the idea to me that no matter what happens, whether you have success or failure, you keep moving forward. Nothing will happen if you keep going backward or stay where you’re currently at. Life is not going to wait for you, so keep moving forward with it.
How would you describe the NC3 team?
There are many great ways to describe the NC3 team, but a few stand out. They are dedicated and know when to work hard and when to have fun. The team collaborates effectively to achieve their goals. Most importantly, they support one another through any challenges that arise.
What were you most surprised to learn about NC3 during or shortly after you were onboarded with NC3?
I was surprised by how kind and open everyone was to questions from the start. Being naturally inquisitive, I worried that asking too many questions might annoy people. However, everyone was patient and welcoming, making me feel completely comfortable. Their support reassured me that my curiosity was valued, not bothersome.
