November 29, 2021The Trane Technician of the Future Scholarship was created to recognize deserving students seeking a technical education as they prepare to enter the field of HVAC or Building Automation. This scholarship provides essential financial support for aspiring HVAC or controls technicians launching their career. The scholarship will engage a diverse pool of students from across the country and introduce us to talent to potentially fill current and future technician opportunities.
Eligibility Requirements
Applicants must meet all of the following criteria:
- Be high school seniors, high school graduates or current college undergraduates in the US and Canada
- Be pursuing an HVAC (Heating, ventilation, and air conditioning) degree or certification or building automation technology related degree or certification
- Plan to enroll in part-time or fulltime undergraduate study at an accredited two- or fouryear college, university or vocational technical/trade school for the upcoming academic term
Selection Criteria
The program will consider academic performance, demonstrated leadership and participation in school and community activities, work experience, a statement of long-term career and educational goals and objectives, a statement of unusual personal or family circumstances, and an online recommendation in their selection of finalists. Finalists will be presented to a regional committee for final selection of award recipients. Demonstrated financial need will be considered.
Awards
Recipients enrolling part-time will be granted awards of $2,500 each. Recipients enrolling fulltime will be granted awards of $4,000 each. Awards may be used for all education-related expenses. Awards are not renewable; however, students may reapply to the program each year they meet eligibility requirements. Recipients may be offered interview opportunities for internships.
